Here we go again, tomorrow is the first REAL day back at school for my kiddo. I always get so anxious for him. He's a great kid, but I'm so worried about him getting picked on all the time. I want him to happy, have lots of friends and be safe from bullies. I know when it comes to kids that can just be too much to ask. Seems like school is sort of survival of the fittest. So harsh to send our kids into that jungle... aggghhh.



I shall wrap him in bubble wrap and send him with a bodyguard!

I totally know what you mean, and tomorrow is the REAL first day for my son... they just had a going over the rules day on Friday.



I can't stand bullies. I have serious talks with Christopher every morning, and you wouldn't believe the things we have dealt with- rather it being kids making fun of his ears, the backpack he uses, or that he didn't get the brand of shoes 'everyone else' was wearing.

Are we doomed to repeat the mistakes of our parents no matter how hard we swear we won't, no matter how hard we try to be different, to be better? Someday I feel like we are even though I know that I'm the only person who determines what I will and will not do and which paths I take.



I think it's just easy to slip into the role we know best walk the path that is familiar.

And that is why people seem to repeat the same things over and over- it is familiar.



Keep on ponderin' as the more you do, the more you'll learn about yourself... might not change what you do-but still :)

We are what we dwell on. So if you think negative thoughts about things, it is much more probable that you will move in that direction. That is why some reform out of prison and some do not. The ones who do not, concentrate on being there and in that environment, the ones who take advantage of educational experiences, stay fit, do not get caught up in the drugs etc, usually make it on the outside. How do I know? I have friends who made it and others who did not. That was their experience.

I know this site is full of teenagers suffering from perpetual teenage angst. So here's something you should know... parents, at least most descent ones stay awake at night stressing out about whether or not we're screwing up our kids and at the end of it all, we probably are. They don't issue parenting hand books and every child and parent is different.

Well tomorrow is the first day of school for the munchkin. I can't believe how early they start school down here or what a pain in the ass it was just to get him registered. Seriously people it's a little boy registering for school, not a grown up applying for the friggin' CIA. And here I thought country folk were supposed to be friendly. pffffttt!!!

Christopher starts this week, too.... but on Friday. We have a welcome night on Wednesday where they get to find out who their teachers are, what kids are in their class, and to drop off all their supplies. They then send us home with a heaping folder of forms and they come back Friday morning :P
